I was told that the media is to blame. diseases consist of things like liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, etc. I dont know what to believe now.

Anorexia Nervosa is a psychological disorder but the problem manifests in the person's physical state.

The person suffers from a decreased eating habit or decreased appetite. This results in a loss of weight and thinning of the muscles.

On latter stages, the patient will almost completely lack appetite. Most people who has this disorder dies of lack of nutrition and starvation.

At the beginning, it's an obsession. Then it turns into actual insanity. The anorexic is crazy. She believes that she is fat, when in reality she's either thin, or average, not fat at all. She cannot control this. She believes she is trapped, and she is, in the mind. It's a disease of the mind, not of the body.
