Hey ian_f_lin...,
You got that right. I look at the Ocean to do the same thing, and have gazed at the stars while in the middle of the desert (no lights). Think of the number of people on earth. My Grandfather said to me before he died, the individual is not what matters, but the direction of society is. He meant that humanity could carry on without one individual, your contributions are like a giant team, each persons effort matter to the team, but they could sit you out.

I understand what you mean.
I don't really look into the sky. I would feel small and loneliness
Instead, I walk down the street at night for its quiet and cool fresh air. It helps clear up my head, away from negative thoughts.
But problems still exist and need to be solved. I think relgions help one how to be a better person but not how to solve problems. One cannot expect a divine being will come for rescue because there are just too many problems out there (like you said, there is always someone worse than you).
Life is self-central basis. Think of what oneself can do to resolve; then think of what others may help to resolve. At the end, one can only do so much to keep/put one's life in proportion. As for the rest, one would put hopes in the future.

You're right. I've always loved looking up at the night sky. The harder you look, the more stars you see; seeing the milky way makes me feel quite emotional, and when you look through a telescope at that little hazy patch in Orion and see them all clustered together it's awesome. I remember the first time I recognised Leo, he was huge, like a giant rocking horse, then I saw Virgo, striding across the sky. It's been such a pleasure to point out the constellations to my children, and to show them that some stars are different colours.
The unimaginable number of stars, and the thought that all my ancestors must've looked up at the same constellations, does put one's own small problems into perspective.
Mountains do that for me, too. None where I live; it's always special for me to go somewhere and see one.

When I'm having a bad time, I try to stifle the external anger or hatred. Internally, in your mind, you can suffer, but once you are calm physically, this will eventually reflect onto your mind.
Calm body means serenity, which leads to mental calmness.
Some might argue with this, that the mind is separated from the body, but I am stating basic scientifical answers that can be proven.
I do not feel assured when I hear an answer saying "god will help [someday, somewhere. but when and where?]".
You need help now, you want to solve a problem. You do not want to wait for something, uhh, abstract to make you feel nicer.
Hope you succeed in life!

If you want tho modify your life then this really is your guide https://tr.im/Y6YEh , Manifestation Miracle.
With Manifestacion Miracle you may understand what the law states of attraction. The Manifestation Miracle does a good work of teaching you only how strongly you'll need to wish something in order to do what' needed to be able to get it. Consider need the exact same way you would think of a candle. If the candle is burning solid then you'll push previous obstacles in order to get that which you want. If the candle isn't using at all, then you definitely won't. Need is really a burning fireplace. Not only do you have to own it, but also you have to help keep putting timber about it to keep it burning.
This guide can be as simple since it gets and with it you'll be able to start thinking in what' probable very fast.

wow. Cool, finally someone who looks to the positive side of things even though you are having a bad day. It is kind of like that with me but i listen to music if i am feeling bad, angry or annoyed and music kind of cures me (music flows in, feelings go out) lol. may sound weird. Also, i am naturally a positive person who says that things could be worse than they are, so that helps. But i might try that looking up at the sky sometimes.
By the way, i like your thinking, keep going with the positive thinking. :)

Meditation works well. Going somewhere and just quietly sitting and thinking to oneself does wonders. I have also discovered that making lists and putting things in some kind of order that can be worked on helps as well. It gives what needs to be done a whole new perspective and helps to calm own's nerves after a stresseful day or event.

Think of the size of the universe. Think of the other planets, the stars, the world as a whole, and think how small we are, compared to all of this, we are one small living thing, that will just perish one day, turn to dust, so my advice is, why freaking worry, we are so damn insignificant, when you think about it, so make the most of your time, and rise above the bad times. We are all guilty of it, but you are right, what`s the bloody point in worrying??
