I am using a wireless N router / hub and wireless card, both made by linksys. Clients that are plugged in to the hub work fine. Wireless client works fine as long as I use WEP security or disable wireless security all together. If I try to use WPA or WPA2 the client will not get an IP address, and it will default to a 169. address. Any ideas?

I updated the firmware on the router, and the driver of the client wirelss card to the latest available version.

The answer to this question is, it depends on the wireless client that the card is using.Some wireless client doesn't accept WPA as an encryption. But mostly the problem lies on the router/hub. Its because of the firmware that it is using. Firmwares acts as an operating system for routers/hubs. Mostly WPA or WPA2 depends on the firmware that the device is using.
