I have checked add/delete, but there is no mcafee listed. I have spent expensive time on the phone with Mcafee techs-no help. Could someone please help me? I need it explained in baby steps please. I am not computer savvy.

My suggestion is to reinstall McAffee, and then perform the uninstall from Add/Remove Programs again. That's the best you can do - that will be the easiest and most thorough.

If you want to get deeper, then the issue is taht something called "shredder" in the McAffee program still has "hooks" in the registry. The only way to get rid of this is with a registry editor (or you can use the regedit command at the command prompt, and wade through files until you actually delete all of the McAffee hooks). That's a little dangerous for someone who doesn't know computers.

Again, I strongly recommend reinstalling the McAffee program, then deleting it using Add/Remove Programs in Windows.

If that doesn't help, you need to consider finding some help with the PC in the area of registry editing.
