i have to do a book report and i have to write a movie idea for it, but don't know how i should go about it. I'm thinking about writing a letter to a producer suggesting how the movie should be made or just writing down notes for for how the film version should be make. what do you think i should do.

by the way the book is " Their Eyes Were Watching God"

I've never read the book, though it sounds interesting. The idea of writing a letter is good but I would suggest writing a proposal instead. It wouldn't have to be as accurate as a real one would be but I think it would give you a chance to use more detail than a letter would. Write it out sort of like a long letter, mention what parts of the book are essential for the movie to tell the story. Unless it is a really short book it would be difficult to fit everything into three hours or less of film. Talk about what would be possible to do with and/or without special effects. Maybe suggestions for what would make the movie appealing to audience. Heck, maybe even try suggesting what real actors would work for the roles. Whatever you do I certainly hope you have fun. Think of the characters and think of the actors/actresses you know , who would be good in each part. Take the part of the casting director. How are the current actors you chose most like the characters you would like them to portray. Remember you can cast "against type" which would mean you can cast against the type of character the actor normally portrays. IE: Eddie Murphy in a totally dramatic role etc.

I think you should write a letter to the producer to suggest how it should be made!!!
