Alot of great key players are going down with lots of injuries lately.
Guess it shows the ferocity of the game lately.

hit the nail on the head. SO many high-profile guys are getting hurt, yet there is still just as much competition between most teams. I say this year prooves that we need to give major props to back-ups around the league.

The injuries are about the same. It's just the number of popular players that are injured. I remember a couple of years ago when the Jaguars had 11 or so starters on injury (they were using a third string quarterback and a fourth string running back) reserve in October. I'm sure a few teams are like that right now, but since they are no names, their injuries don't make the paper.

The amount of injured players is the same, its just that bigger named players are going down. The amount of injuries is almost always the same and every year people say that the injuries are going up.

It may be that the number of injuries for the season is the same but that more high profile players are going down.

No its not you. We were just discussing this today. The Lions just lost Jones, got four other starters out so far, some not 100 % healthy. We think the conditioning regimen has gotten the bodies right on the edge of snapping-and they are.

They players are getting bigger and faster and less prepared for the wear and tear of a football season.
