Babies begin to move around about 7-8 weeks along, but you won't be able to feel it until sometime between 16-22 weeks. First time moms often don't feel the baby move until later because they aren't sure what it feels like. At first it feels a little bit like gas or hunger pains, but you will eventually begin to see the difference between those and the baby's movements. You can best feel the first movements when you are sitting or lying still. All babies are different, some are very active and some are very quiet. At first you may feel a lot of movement one day and then not so much the next. This is normal and as the baby grows, you will feel movement every day.

FETAL MOVEMENT:
"I haven't felt the baby moveing yet; could something be wrong? Or could I just not be recognizing the kicking?"
Fetal movement may be the greatest source of joy in your pregnancy. More than a positive pregnancy test, an expanding belly, or even the sound of the fetal heartbeat, those little kicks and flutters affirm that you've got a new life growing inside you.
However, few expectant moms, particularly first-timers, feel their first kick in the forth month. Though the embryo begins to make spontaneous movements by the 7th week, these movements, made by very thiy arms and legs, do not become apparent to the mother until much later. That first momentous sensation of life, or "quickening," can occur anywhere between the 14th and 26th weeks, but generally closer to the average of the 18th to 22nd week. Variations on that average are common. A woman who's had a baby before is likely to recognize movement earlier (because she knows what to expect and because her uterine muscles are more lax, making it easier to feel a kick) than one who is expecting her first child. A very slender woman may notice very early, weak movements, whereas an overweight woman may not be aware of movements until they've become more vigorous.
Sometimes, fetal movements aren't noticed when expected because of a miscalulated due date. Other times, the kicks and flutters are there but a woman fails to recognize them. Often early movements are mistaken for gas or ordinary twitches in the digestive tract.
Nobody can tell a first-time mother-to-be exactly what she can expect to feel; a hundred pregnant women may describe that first movement in a hundred different ways. Perhaps the most common descriptions are "a fluttering in the abdomen" and "butterflies in the stomach." But early fetal movements have also been described as "a bumping or nudging," "a twitch," "a growling stomach," "someone hitting my stomach," "a bubble bursting," "the squirmies," "like being turned upside-down on a amusement park ride."
Although it isn't unusual to be unaware of fetal movements until the 20th week or later, your practitoner may order a ultrasound to check on the baby's condition if you haven't felt anything- and he or she hasn't been able to elicit fetal responce by prodding- by the 22nd week. If the fetal heartbeat is strong, however, and everything else seems to be progressing normally, the practitoner may hold off testing even longer.

HI! I started feeling my little one in my 17th week. But they say you can feel them as early as 13(although very rare and not always sure it was baby) Every one is different though...good luck it is such a wonderful feeling to have them kicking around! You will feel it soon dont worry!
Suggestion: Try some different foods? the food i eat or drink makes my lil girl more active. Grapes always make her kick lol and so does Dr. Pepper (my doc says pop is okay in moderation) I have noticed since my work cloths are getting tighter she seems to get annoyed about being squeezed and moves around alot :)

With my first I was around 20 weeks, with my second I was 16 weeks and I could only feel it then if I was laying flat on my back, with my third I was around same time, with this one I'm hoping to feel it sooner, I'm 13 weeks and counting down days :) Good luck to you and congrats on the baby!
