Say she works at Jack in the Box (hypothetical, of course), can I just 'drive thru', order a big cheeseburger, and ask her out?

When she passes your order to you, pass her a note with your phone number on it. that way you can spare any embarrassment of face to face rejection.

how cute. when you pull up to th window , inform her thet you really only cam ethrough the line to talk to her and not about the food. let her know that you have been coming there for awhile and was interested in getting to know her outside her job. you would probably have a better chance at talking to her once she is off.assure her youre not a stalker and you would like to take her out. old school chivalry would be nice, send her a secret admirer single rose and card. it shows you have class, which is always a plus. also it would look good in front of everyone. whatever you do, make sure she doesnt have a man, the last thing you need is drama. good will hunting.

pull up to the drive thru, when she asks to take your order (instead of ordering anything) ask her out

Nah, I'd give her the personal approach and ask what time she has a break, and try to come back and see her in person. More charm :)

Yes, do it like this.

after getting the food, look in the bag and then back at her and say, "hey, you forgot to give me your phone number!" then say "want to go out sometime?"
