I was on the pill for about the same time and it took me about 1 1/2 years to get pregnant with our first baby. We have 6, after the first one, no problems, I'm a Fertile Mertile!! Anyways.....for alot of women, it'll take about a year for your cycle to get back to normal and for you to get pregnant. Keep track on the calendar when you have your periods and when you ovulate. You know you are ovulating when you feel/see mucus on your underwear or on your toilet paper after you wipe. No mucus, no ovulation and no getting pregnant. Your hormones are higher in the day time, so have relations during the day, and when you are ovulating, have relations every day, and even for a few days afterwards just to be on the safe side. Don't give up hope!! It'll happen for you too. Good luck, and check out the info below.

Since you can get pregnant while ON the pill if you miss a few or take them off-schedule, I don't think that the hormones from oral birth control pills really stick around in your system for months afterward.
I do think, though, that pills can mask any irregularities or problems you might have with your cycle. While you're taking it, you always have a perfect 28-day cycle. But once you're off, you may find that your natural rhythm is a 30-day cycle, or a 26-day cycle, or maybe you're not regular at all.
I took pills for 12 years before I got pregnant the first time, and I conceived in my first month off. Then I nursed for a little over a year (taking minipills), went back on regular pills for a bit, quit, and immediately got pregnant again.
So it doesn't have to take a long time.
And I wouldn't expect your cycle to be regular yet. It's not unusual to miss a period, or to have a really long period, either.

some females get pregnant the 1st month off the pill. the final lady takes approximately 3 months for it to get out of her equipment and bypass lower back to known cycles. It takes the final couple between 8 months and a 300 and sixty 5 days to conceive after going off the pill nevertheless so do not difficulty if it would not ensue desirable away.

When I came off the pill, I had been on it for a year. It took about 4 months for my cycle to become regular again. I don't know the actual statistics on how long it takes to get out of your sytem, but I highly doubt you will have to wait 8 years to get pregnant!

I was on the pill for 5 years and the doctor said it could take up to 1 year. Also I tried Ovulex all natural. www.ovulex.com and if that doesn't work ask your doctor about clomid.

it will not take eight years. Just give it some time. It all depends on how fast your matabolizm is. If you have a fast one then it will not take as long. It is different with everyone, but I dought it will take eight years. Maybe a couple, but I even dought that. good luck
