How on Earth did they manage to weigh it?
The weight of the penis varies, of course, depending on the state of engorgement and erectness it is in at the time.
To accurately measure the weight of the erect penis, they'd have to get the whale aroused first. A dead whale's penis wouldn't be erect (unless it was a very kinky whale).
However, the length of the blue whale's erect penis has been estimated at about 2 m (6 1/2 feet) based on observations. Even assuming it's really thick (I have no idea what the actual proportion of a whale's girth to length is), and giving it an arbitrary diameter of 50 cm (about the size of really big, mature tree), and assuming a density slightly greater than water (with blood pressure and stuff, let's say a density of 1.2 g/cm^3) that comes out to a volume of about 0.39 cubic meters, which would weigh about half a ton. Bigger than a person, certainly, but nowhere near the 2 to 5 ton average for an adult elephant.

Not quite from what I can find -- the penis is reported on many sites to be around 10 - 11 ft. long, with a bone in it. But that would not be enough, I think, to make it weigh as much as an elephant! Still, something pretty amazing.

Half of those don't seem to be even real. Men and women do not by accident swallow spiders, that's a whole myth. Humans and dolphins don't seem to be the only animals to have intercourse for fun. Chimps and bonobos do, too. Bonobos are referred to as "the free-love apes" considering that they mate so quite often and with so many companions. A duck's quack does echo. It's a delusion that it doesn't. It isn't the quantity of acid in a crocodile's stomach that makes the difference, it's the strength of it. The feminine black widow spider may on party mate with up to 25 companions, but not everyday and not every feminine in any respect. Additionally they don't normally eat the male afterwards - traditionally, the male escapes. Mom tarantulas don't kill ninety nine% of their younger. Any animal that did that would not last lengthy. All birds can see the color blue - birds can see into the ultraviolet spectrum, which is invisible to us.
