OK I have a friend who says loads of stuff about themselves. She says that she owns her own helicopter (which could be true, ahe is like a multi millionaire) and that Simon Cowell is her godfather. How can I find the truth? She uses this stuff to make me feel small.

You might want to go to zabasearch.com and key in her name. That will give you some basic information about her address. If you click on "more information" next to her name, it will give you a thumbnail description of her relatives too. Unfortunately, your 'friend" sounds histrionic and narcissistic. You might want to get this book: Emotional Vampires. It talks about people with personality disorders and how they use and manipulate other people. It also provides some good coping strategies for people like you who have to deal with these "vampires". Good Luck!

I had a friend like this.
He was always saying things like... I didn't know which car to buy so I bought both... Very annoying.
I used to just ignore it and change the subject.
If she owns her own helicopter does she also know how to fly it? Make up an excuse to go to the airfield to where her helicopter is stored (maybe to enquire about flying lessons or something like that). Suggest that whilst you're there she show you her helicopter.
Do it in a flattering way, 'oh wow, I'd LOVE to see your helicopter, that would be so cool etc etc!'. Flatter her ego...

If you see her family/other friends casually mention Simon Cowell or the helicopter to see what their reaction is too!

First of all, if you feel that she uses this stuff to make you feel small, she is NOT a friend. You might be able to find out stuff on google or something, or you could pay to investigate her, but ask yourself if she's really worth it. I had a friend who used to tell me all kinds of crap to make me feel small, and it all blew up in her face one day. She could be lying because she thinks that you expect her to be rich and spoiled, so now maybe the stories come naturally to her now. If you want to check her out, just go to Yahoo or Google and type in investigative services or something like that. You'll have to pay for some things. Good Luck!

I highly doubt she's telling the truth. Tell her you want to come over to see her house then ask her parents how Simon is...

I think you should just tell her she's full of ****.
