Oh this is a family tradition and it always works. Spread a cup of baking soda over the top of your pie. This will keep out any water or insects from entering the crust. It works great. Then on Thanksgiving remove the baking soda from the pie. Happy Thanksgiving.

Personally I think Frozen homebaked apple pie loses its flavor. Why not just bake another?

I would pop it in the freezer before baking it and then pop it in the oven Thanksgiving morning to get that fresh baked taste and smell going.
