same thing here. All you have to do is charge it for the hours its supposed to be charged. Depending on the battery bars, thats how many hours you charge. 3 bars, three hours , 4 bars four hours ect. you probaly fried your battery charging it all night! sorry i did to. Just go purchase a new battery and this time charge wisely

U N N I answer would work perfectly if you had a nickel metal halide battery(these are the old cell phone batteries)as it is you have a lithiom ion battery which has NO memory so draining the battery all the way first would not help especially considering you have probably done that already around 2pm. fFirst you need to reset the charge on the battery. to do this you need to kill the battery and charge it min 12 hours three times in a row each cycle (kill the battery charge for 12 hours) should happen with in a 24 hour period. once you have done this the battery should be set back to its intail charge. Also you should be using you car adapter as little as possible as this device is only designed to keep a phone that has a charge alive in the car.IT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY. 8 hours on the car charger would only yield you maybe 20 mins

Sounds like a defective or old battery from the manufacturer...take it back to where you purchased it and tell them the problem, don't allow them the chance to swingle you into leaving the entire phone so they can "send it out for servicing", all it needs its a replacement battery.
My daughter had a phone problem like this and the company she purchased from bent over backwards to ensure she got what she needed...they even gave her a discount on other products or a later purchase, her choice.
They shouldn't have a problem replacing this for you...possibly tho you might get someone trying to tell you that you "overcharged" it...they auto off once charged. I've had mine sitting on a charger for a full day after it was already charged..
The one thing you have to do with these phones tho is once every few months let it die totally....then charge it...but this extends the life further and by charging when it has only a mark left won't or shouldn't damage it. My son's Razr is 2 years old, same battery and it lasts 4-5 days on a charge and yes he uses it and it's always on. Mine gets charged once every week and a half if lucky and my phone is over a year old...
When you get the new battery...try using the vibrate or ring-vibrate setting less, easier on the charge and the phone lasts longer between charges.
Good luck

Make sure you let the battery charge drain entirely before recharging. This increases battery life.

Let the battery drain down completely before charging it, if it continues, then you probably need a new battery.

hmm best bet is to get a new one, an easy way to burn it up fast is letting it charge a lot, instead of letting it completely die here and there before you charge it do that with the next one it will last longer
