Yes, A withdrawal looks better on a transcript becuase any professional or other type of school will look at it completely differently. Withdrawal means maybe you didn't like the course or you signed up in it by mistake and didn't realize it until you got to class. So withdrawal can mean a variety of different things whereas a fail just tells them that you flat out failed the course and there is no other reasoning for that.

I have to say withdrawl because it looks way better on you than you fail a class.

"FAIL" is always a negative, and it will do damage to your grade point average. a "WITHDRAW" is not so negative, and won't do damage to your grade point average.

NOTE: Some grading systems have WP and WF designations: Withdraw-passing or Withdraw-failing -- but either way, this is not so damaging as a failing grade would be.

I say withdrawal because than it won't effect your grade. A fail would.
