That's two questions.

1. People are 'afraid' of pain because it is unpleasant to experience. Thus, they avoid it.

2. People do not want to be sheltered from 'the world', they want to be sheltered from pain of various kinds.

If you want to wallow in pain, that's your choice. Most people would prefer to live a happy life, doing the things that they love to do. Pain usually isn't associated with happiness, unless you're a masochist. Given the questions you've asked and the answers you've given, are you perchance a masochist?

ther r many types of pain ..but not many good support groups to help people cope and see them through it there pain.......lack of caring and compassion and time to give to other is the reason for fear of pain
