Spud Webb is one of the more overated players ever. Basically, he'd be nowhere on the map if he didnt win the dunk contest. (And I dont even think he shouldve won that!). He was also a big defensive liability.

I consider Mugsy Bogues underated. I would MUCH rather have him on my team than Spud, yet gets no cred cuz he didnt win a dunk contest. Mugsy was a just a very solid PG. A great leader who could run the offense, pass and distribute the ball, and never turned the ball over. And despite his height, wasnt a bad defender due to his strength.

The best tiny man in the game has to be Damon Stoudamire though. Averaged 19 and 9 as a rookie to win ROY. Exceeded expectations and put up great stats until he was on the very deep and talented Portland team...where he didnt put up the same stats but was a vital part of the team and hit many many clutch shots. Other accomplishments: 6 playoff appearances, single game high of 54 and career avg of 14.4 ppg and 6.5 dimes a game.

Nate.....he's good....but, its too early to really consider him.

Also have to mention TJ Ford....who is also too young. He's listed as 6ft........but anyone that has seen him play knows for SURE the guy cant even be 5'11". He is clearly shorter than the other 6ft PGs. I love this guy's game. He is probably the fastest guy up and down the court (for sure top 3), and has great ball handling and vision. he could be a very very good player.

But as of now....it probably has to be Damo.

These answers show the negative impact of watching too much ESPN...

Spud Webb and Mugsy Bogues were useless...their teams never won anything, what good were they, other than side shows? Adams never won anything either... They were much more of a liability to their teams than they ever were an asset.

Tiny Archibald was 6'1" , so he doesn't qualify, but he was a great player...only player to ever lead the league in scoring and assists in the same season.

The most successful player under 6 feet tall was the 5'9" Calvin Murphy. He never won a title, but Murphy is in the Hall of Fame, which Bogues and Webb and Adams can also enter if they buy tickets.

During his time, current WNBA Charlotte Sting Head Coach Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues ran rings around the opposition. 5'3' in height', Bogues was the shortest player ever to play in the NBA. But his height was never a liability as he made up for it with his speed, defensive ability and leadership.

Currently, the best "small-man" is Earl Boykins of the Denver Nuggets. Boykins is 5'5'' and provides the same qualities that Bogues did for his team, with the exception that Boykins has a more reliable outside jumper.

I also discovered that at 5'5'', Earl Boykins can bench press 330 lbs. Now how many people can do that!

Hope this helps.

The question is who is the most succesfull player under 6 feet tall. not one of the shortest. and my answer goes to allen iverson he is just under 6 feet tall and 160 pounds soaking wet, personally cant stand the guy, but loves the way he plays.

Michael Adams has the best stats of anyone under 6 ft and under. He average a double-double in one season in points and assist. He average over 15 pts and 7 assist a game during the prime of his career.

Allen Iverson - He is 6" excatly though so does that count ? He is one of the NBA's best players (and having a contract of $19,000,000 shows that) Plus he has played in many All-Star Games and MVP.
