I was just wondering if anyone out there finds birds as incredibly beautiful and fascinating as I do, I really am astounded sometimes by the sheer diversity of bird species on this planet and how unique and specialised birds can be.. and how many different songs and sounds they all make. I really love watching birds and listening to them, finding out what species they are etc, the bird world never ceases to amaze me! If I had to pick just one favorite I guess it would have to be the Common Loon because they are so pretty and make the most beautiful sounds.... Whats your favorite bird species and why??

Of course I find birds fascinating....I am an ornithologist and study birds for a living. Also do a lot of birding on my off time too..love traveling to different states to see all kinds of different species and rarities. My favorites are two little song birds, Wrentits and the Orange-crowned Warbler. Have studied both species and they have SO much personality! Definitely very intelligent birds, and both species are rather feisty. When the Orange crowns get bad or especially territorial they will sort of raise their orange crown as a threat.

I do find birds fascinating. In the last dozen years I have become a very serious 'birder'. Most of my vacation time is spent looking for new species of birds. In fact I am going to Ecuador for the second time this year in a couple of weeks. I think the attraction comes from the freedom in flight that birds exhibit. They also are very beautiful in different ways. The spectacle of migration is incredible, with birds that weigh only as much as a penny flying hundreds of miles across the gulf of mexico.

Its really difficult to choose a single species, or even group of birds. When someone asks me my favorite I always reply "The one I am looking at".

i've got been an fanatic for 6 years, and that i relatively have saved a itemizing of the birds i've got seen the place I stay . . . in my head. It only supplies me large exhilaration that i've got seen quite some those birds in one place. So i've got confidence that some people basically shop those lists as a checklist for ourselves, without purpose to instruct-off or share with others. some chook fanatics ought to be like me. The checklist-making is a trifling own interest.

The griffon vulture. It does not need to kill anything for its meals. Animals die of old age, disease, natural causes, or predation by lions or leopards and so forth and theses large, ominous and beautiful birds can eat without ever having to kill anything themselves. There's no blood on this magnificent birds hands.
