I work with a lady who is in the hospital with pneumonia. I feel like I should take something for her when I go to see her. The problem? I don't know her very well and I am broke! What should I do?

Sometimes the best thing is the gift of ourselves. But if you feel you need to bring something a card or a small stuffed animal would be good and cost is minimal.

Hello: If you are truly 'broke' then the answer is simple: just go and visit. She is not feeling well and will appreciate your stopping by. Don't hang around, she needs to rest.
If you have a few bucks (under five dollars) you could go by the grocery store and get a little plant to brighten up her room. If she is in intensive care, don't bother with a gift, they don't allow flowers in rooms on the unit and you might not get in either. Call first.

Just a nice potted plant is fine, or a bouquet of flowers. It shouldn't cost more than $20, and probably less than $10 if you go for the potted plant option. You can get them in grocery stores.

Flowers. Women love flowers no matter what. They are a simple and pure way to show you care without inviting too much room to offend someone, mess something up, get the wrong kind... ya know? They're generic, but greatly appreciated. Just the gesture alone will mean the world to her.

get her a card and a single flower or a ballon. they are all relatively cheap. she will be happy that you took the time to go see her and probably wont be expecting you to bring her anything, especially if you dont know each other that well. its the thought that counts anyway, not how much money you spend! good luck, and i hope she feels better!
