Dog Pros: They stay outside.
Dog Cons: They chew everything, poop and pee in the house, bark, annoy your neighbors, you have to train them to keep them from acting like wild animals, and friends don't like them jumping on them

Cat Pros: They can be let outside, and they will return home, they use a litter box, they sleep most of the time, and are fun to watch entertain themselves.
Cat Cons: they shed.

A kitten. Puppies are cute but a lot of work. I have 2 dogs and if you ever have to move most places do not accept dogs. Go with a kitten.

puppy's are harder to train, while most kittens take to a litter box pretty quickly.

Puppy's are more friendly, and more fun. You get to take them for walks, run around outside with them, etc.

Although puppy's are usually more work then kittens, I think that a puppy would be more fun for you!

Always remember, puppy's turn into DOGS and kittens turn into CATS. Make sure you are willing to take some of the responsibility and help care for them, even when they get older!

Take in consideration, they are not gonna stay Puppies or Kittens for long. Heck a great dane, rockweiler and doberman were once puppies.

Are you looking for a small, toy animal; something that's more managable? That's sort of what I'm picking up from your question.

Well, they both grpw up.....and a dog will be more social & playful than a cat. Cats don't like to learn tricks or chase a ball around, but dogs don't usually like to snooze on your lap half the day.
For younger active people, I suggest the puppy--it will help you get some exercise & be more fun in the long run.

Kittens potty train themselves. Just show them the litter once and they've got it! Dogs take forever to housebreak.
