I Would. I think Justin deserved it more than Jeter. I mean, All justin has for help is Torri and Joe, with a little help from Santana. Who do the Yankees and Jeter have? Hmmmm Lets think about it.... Gay-Rod, Jonny Deamon, Bobby Oh-Hey-You, Randy, Cheng Ming Wang, and lots lots lots more. Their is just way to many tallent (though i hate to admit it because i hate yankees) in that ball club for Jeter to win MVP.

Well Duh of course im taking Justin over Jeter. Only die hard Yankee fans would say Jeter deservs it. Dye, Ortiz, are also a better candidate than Jeter.

When you tihnk of an MVP you ask "What is this team without him?" Without Jeter the Yankees still have A-Rod, Damon, Abreau, and god knows who else. For Justin all he has is Torri, Mauer, and a very very very very young ball club that can't even hit homeruns.

Jeter has too many talent around him to be named MVP. Jeter is last on my list for an MVP candidate.

Die hard Yankee fans, you have 26 Rings so just shut up. Better luck next year

The MVP isnt based on supporting cast, the only way that would work would be if a pitcher won because his run support is what wins ball games. It is based on individual stats, which is why Jeter got screwed. First off, he had the 2nd best batting average in baseball. He also out-homered Morneau down the stretch (From July till season's end 7-6). Jeter also plays a much more difficult defensive position and plays it damn well compared to Morneau as an OK defensive player at first base. Lets also keep in mind that Jeter is one of the most clutch players in baseball.

The problem with MVP voting is it is still based too much on HRs and RBIs. Morneau had more HRs (thanks to his explosion in the first half of the year) and more RBIs than Jeter. Lets also keep in mind Derek Jeter bats second and Morneau in the heart of the order, meaning Morneau has a better chance of having runners on base. When you look at the bigger picture, Jeter should have won MVP, but lets face it, more people HATE the Yankees than like them in the media world.

All I have to say is that when it's all said and done Jeter will have more rings than all the others combined. Jeter is the Yankees and all you haters will always be that haters. Winners don't hate they perform and Jeter has been money every season he goes out there. Mourhoe cannot begin to scratch on the talent and performance of a Derek Jeter.Derek is held to a much higher standard by the media which by the way vote on these awards and have never even played tee ball and will never get a fair shake on this type of voting because if you don't hit 40hrs and drive in 130rbis that is all they measure this on not the actual value of the player to his team.

Just because the Yankees have better players on the team, that doesn't mean anyone else is more deserving. Its the player that gets the award, not the team. And Derek Jeter is more consistant than Justin Morneau because for basically every year since he became a Yankee (1996), he played brilliantly and deffinetely deserved his captain spot. Justin Morneau just had an outstanding year this year. Jeter deserves it more.

Derek Jeter was one of the few healthy starters on that team for awhile while A-Rod was having a mental collapse. He was second in batting avg. and a gold glove winner in the most important position on the infield (not including catcher). He's a leader. Justin Morneau had to be encouraged to play on certain days from veterans...he has the JD Drew disease, great talent but little ambition to really give it his all. Morneau had a great season from June on.
Jeter should have won.

With all the injuries the Yanks had this year, Jeter carried the team pretty much by by himself and keep them in 1st place for almost the hole year. He proved to be a hell of a leader on and off the field to keep what was avalable together and working as a team, and get them as far as they did.
He SO deserved to Be MVP just for that, now throw in his stats and you have yourself a proven MVP....
HE GOT SOOO ROBBED!!!!!!

Easily.

However, this was a bad decision. Jermaine Dye and Frank Thomas, even David Ortiz deserved it more than Morneau OR Jeter.

yes...he stronly helped the twins get into the playoffs. he batted .321 with 34 HR's 130 RBI and 97 runs. not only that, he is an excellent fielder. if liriano stays healthy and santana keeps what hes got, i expect to see the twins in the world series next year.

Yes.

Jeter lost, just like the Yankees have the last 6 years.
