Puṇe is a city located in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the capital of Pune District in which it is located. It is the 7th largest city in India with a population of 4.5 million, and the second largest in the state of Maharashtra. It is located roughly 120 kilometres east of Mumbai at an altitude of 560 metres above sea level. It is situated at the eastern edge of the Western ghats on the Deccan plateau.

It is well connected with Road, Rail and Air with cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Howarah and Ahmedabad. Its a developing city with population over 5000000. It has even got an international airport with services to Gulf and Europe. It has a university on its name and is better than Mumbai university. The climate is similar to that of Mumbai. It is surrounded by Sahyadri Hills and in summer the heat is a little bit more as compared to Mumbai.

It is in Maharashtra state of India. It is approximately 120 km south east of Mumbai (Bombay). It takes 2.5 to 3 hrs to drive there from Mumbai (Bombay), they also have an airport in Pune. The frequency of flights from mumbai is great, one flight every half an hour or so.
