I always go for Nokia - they are by far the easiest to use. Not sure how far you'd get with hundred quid though. If you're buying it sim free they are pricey but if you are gonna get a contract then they are often free and always top of the range.

time to educate the America people on Economics ok, let use the iphone as an example iphone 3G S 16GB only with NO att plan and NO contract (this is NO COMMITTMENT PRICING) = $599.99+tax iphone 3G S with att plan or and contract (THIS IS UPGRADE/2YR COMMITTMENT PRICING) = $199.99+tax Wireless providers buy these phones from LG, RIM, Samsung, nokia, HTC, Motorolla at their pricing.. do we like it--hell no! by offering a contract, wireless carriers like att, verizon, sprint, altel, t-mobile can offset the price of a new phone.. becuase--seriously--who would pay $500 for a new phone every 12-18 months?!?!? So, when little susie gets a LG Vu for $49.99 with two year contract, we, as ATT, just lost $200 instantly. But, due to the contract... we will have regained that $200 back in 8 months...and the next 16 months is.. well... green love! LOL so I guess.. and the same goes with Verizon's chocolate, Sprint's Pre, T-mobile G1, Altel.. umm nokia something, We all make money this way... Now, look at Wirefly... free Eternity with contract!!! omg we just lost 349!!! omg!!! but in 10-12 months... we got that money back and the extra 12 months is ... say it!... green love!!! But that's att's money, how does wirefly make $$$. Well, att, verizon, sprint, altel, t-mobile give wirefly a % of its sales... and if they over exceed tour sale projections... they get a bonus! Either way... they make money.. we make money... same with Best buy, Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc... Bu buy form our Coporate Stores... we make more money that way! lfmao Economically---we get our money back for the phone and churn is reduced when a contract is involved... No contract means 100% full price of the phone.. the price you would pay at LG's website, Motorolla's Website, Nokia's Website get the picture

If you want to get a good phone on a cheap contract, then I would get a Nokia 6280. For £15 a month you will get 600 mins anywhere anytime and 1000 texts but it is an18 month contract. just go to http://www.three.co.uk/index.omp

If you can manage just a little bit more, try to save for a k750i, but otherwise a K510i. (both links about the k510i.) (If you don't like either try the carphonewarehouse website.)
