Here's an idea: you have to hold your eyelids open very solidly. Look up, and place the lens on the white part of your eye. While still holding your eyelid, slowly look down. You have to refrain from blinking. Then, very slowly close your eyelid, and massage your eye GENTLY! The lens will adhere itself to your cornea.

*Oh, and one more thing: glasses can look hot! You just have to find the right pair for you! They make a great accessory!*

The technician who was suppose to teach you to put your contacts in has not done their job.
You should NEVER have been allowd to leave the Dr's office until you had learned very well how to put your contacts in.
If you keep trying when you have failed numerous times your eyes are probably starting to swell because of your efforts and you probably need to give them a rest and try again tomorrow.
As an Opthalmology Assistant and one who does not wear any glasses or contacts I had to learn to put contacts on my own eyes before I could teach anyone else.
I too have the problem of seeing my finger coming to my eye and I blink so I learned to look away from my finger and instead of placing the contact over my cornea I would put the contact on the side of my cornea and then turn my eyeball into the contact and it just fell into place.
Fit has alot to do with the contact.
Proper fit will allow easier insertion. Improper fit will not allow proper insertion.
Visit the place where you got your contacts and ask for insertion help and DO NOT leave until you are sucessful at putting your own contacts on as you should be able to.
I would also suggest that you have the fit checked which has to be done by the Dr while he looks at your contact with his direct opthalmoscope etc.

When I first started wearing contacts, I had the hardest time taking them out (like how you are struggling putting them in. It just took a lot of practice, but after a while I got the hang of it, now it's very easy.

Maybe try putting a couple of drops of contact solution in the bowl of the lens and holding your eyes wide open with your other hand. With the drops in the lens the first thing you'll feel on your eyes is tears, which shouldn't feel as creepy - it might help.

But mostly, just practice and be patient with yourself. It's frustrating you right now, so just walk away from it for a bit, relax, do something else, and then try again.

good luck.
