I have an o2 xda II with no sim card,it used to be pre pay but has just lay in my house for the past year haha..
anyway i want to connect it with gps for the sat navigation.
i have a few questions, any help would be gratfully exepted.

do i need to use a sim card with it, and if i do can i use a pre paid one.?
will it cost me to use the sat nav ?
do i need a card or something to use it for in the car?

any help like i said would be great.

is there somewhere i can download the map for free? i know how to tranfer it from my laptop?

someone said i need a gps card? not sure about that one though.

You do not need a SIM card to just use your XDA II as a PDA, you only need the SIM card to make voice or data calls -- Your GPS receiver will not need a SIM card.

For most satnav systems, there is no cost to use the system

the only thing you may need to use it in the car is a car charger if you are planning on using the GPS for more than 1-2h at a time.

No...GPS is not wireless provider dependant - Just ignore the missing/insert SIM notification. Download a good GPS map program and you are good to go...
