My husband and I are trying to think of some baby names for our baby thats due in May. Were not sure yet if its a boy or girl. We would like to go with a name thats not very common. Does anyone have any ideas on names and middle names.

Were not sure if we want to go with a name thats not very common or something thats common. Our last name is Rath if that helps.

One of the names we are considering is Ava MacKenzie for a girl. We just need more name ideas to think about.

We can't use Olivia or Sebastian cause my sister named her daughter and son that and we can't use Caitlin cause my husband's brother named his first daughter that.

Also considering Mya Justine, Jayci Lynn (maybe spell Jayci a different way), Connor but I don't have any ideas for a middle name for Connor. Ian Nathanial, Noah Alexander.

Quite a few of the girl names suggested by other answerers are really popular names right now so you run the risk of there being several kids with the same name in her class (if the baby is a girl that is).
The top 10 girls' names for last year were:
Emma
Madison
Abigail
Olivia
Isabella
Hannah
Samantha
Ava
Ashley
Check out the Social Security Baby Names website to be sure you're not picking this year's "Caitlin". You can look at the top 1000 names and find some really interesting ones that are uncommon without being bizarre.

Since Rath isn't a very common name, you don't want to go too far out there. However, I love Ava Mackenzie. Neither name is overly common or too far out there, and the rhythm works when you say it. So, while I'm not going to add to the great suggestions you've already been given, I will say that you should stick to two syllable names so whatever you choose will just roll off your tongue naturally when you say it.

We just went through that with our ittle boy. We went with Alexander Jackson as we have a common last name of Miller. Ava is a beautiful name and you won't find too many of those in school when she starts - if your baby is a girl.

well.. not knowing the gender does complicate it. what are some of the names you have thought about?
Lydia Rath sounds nice. maybe, Lydia Marie or Lydia Sara Rath. I do like Lydia though.
Haylie/Haley/Hailie/Hali/Halie/Hayli (many different spellings) also goes nice with Rath. maybe..Hali Loraine Rath or Hailie Lynn Rath. ..
for boys i like
aiden (ayden)
noah
julian
matthew butjust "Matt" might sound better with the last name --( mathew rath.. Matt rath..)
i think Julian Rath sounds the best
Madelyn Rath is nice too (or adalyn)

I love the name Ariana Skye!! I don't know why but I do!! My name is Sydney Alison. I also like Kiley (spelled however you like) Madison. My little brother is Cooper Harrison. Alice Ann is pretty too. Sorry, I come up with girl names more than boy names because it's easier. You could also do Jayden for either boy or girl.

Its hard to say because when I found the names for my babies I felt like ok that is who they are. There were alot of names but only one of them were for my baby. That may sound wierd but I felt like they had a personality before they were born. But I like the Ava Mackenzy that is really pretty
