Oil of bitter almonds contains Hydrocyanic acid combined in the form of amygdalin.
You need to hydrolise it( acidic hydrolisis) in order to separate HCN.
Treat it with KOH soln to get KCN.
Alchoholis KCN on reaction with Alkyl halides to yield Alkyl cyanides.
You may also produce Alkyl cyanides by dehydrating Acid amides or acid oximes.
The most difficult process of the whole procedure is to separate HCN from the hydrolysis product of amygdalin. But I will not tell you that because I dont know your intention.

Take 1 teaspoonful of KMn04, add 1 teaspoon vinegar; boil at 100 degrees Centigrade, Then Filter the residue on regular filter paper, the extract is pure Potassium Cyanide.

I don't really believe in the first recipe (KMnO4+vinegar) - where would the nitrogen come from?? From the air?
And Narayan23333, I think the asker would be happy enough if he/she already had access to KCN ;)
Cyanic acid is extremely toxic in low amounts, yet we can eat bitter almonds and linseed to some extent so I doubt that these are so useful for synthetic purposes - unless you (like signature Orange?) know how to separate HCN or KCN from the rest of your almond mixture ;)
Some industrial routes are:
1) reaction of NaNH2 (amide from reaction of NH3 with Na) with C to produce Na2CN2 (cyanamide) and later NaCN.
2) reaction of calcium carbide with nitrogen gas (but the reaction needs a temp. of 1000°C to start!) to produce CaCN2 which in turn as above can react with carbon to Ca(CN)2.
3) reaction of NH3 with methane at 1200°C with Pt catalyst (Degussa process)
Not an easy task apparently ;)

take a alchohol (ch3-oh) and heat it with potssium cyanide(KCN)
you will get methyl cyanide(ch3-cn)
