I had a very close male friend who decided to leave England to go to another country...and i found it so hard to let go of that friendship...we still keep in touch but it's not the same, and many other friends before i have let go so easily.....why does letting certain people go seem so easy, and with others you feel like a part of you is leaving with them....why is that?.........

Some people bring joy to us almost on a daily basis. Some people suck the energy out of you... The reason its hard to let go is that you know it will never be the same again. We get comfortable with people we can trust and count on.... It goes with my theory of people come into your life for a reason and always at a time of need....But the only thing that stays the same is change...

I guess because they are your friend. We all have different levels of friendship and love with our friends and it appears to me this guy is more of a friend to you than other people. Maybe it also has to do with the distance. I think maybe a part of you left with him so that you did remain friends and still had that close connection.

I think it's what you share with them and the connection you have with them. If this person made a big impact on your life then it's reasonable that it's hard for you to let them go.

It would depend on the emotional attachment you had to that person and the degree of involvement they played in your life.
