right-click on your c drive under my computer. go to properties. it will tell you how much space you have left. to find out memory, right-click on my computer and go to properties. virtual memory is low usually when you have not a lot of hard drive space. what happens whenever you open a program like ie, is it takes up memory to have that program open. if you don't have any hard drive space, it doesn't have any room for virtual memory. if you clean up your hard drive you should be fine. you might want to look into a bigger hard drive. good luck!

Virtual memory is hard drive space that your computer uses when it runs low on "real" memory. To increase the amount of virtual memory you have, you need to free up space on your C: drive. If you run out of hard drive space your computer will run very very slow, or hang up and creash continually.

To see how much space you have on your hard drive, open My Computer and right click on the C drive. The little round chart in the middle of the box will display the free space.

To free up space, you will need to move some of your files (music, pictures, videos, etc) off the hard drive. Either delete what you do not need, or move them to CD or DVD.

You want to keep about 1/4 of your hard drive free to keep it running well.

1. To find out your hard drive space - used vs. available, couble click on "My Computer" icon, right click on "Drive C".

2. To increase virtual memory size - in the "My Computer" desktop space, right click anywhere (not on any icon), go to Properties > Advanced > Performance setting > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change
