I´m german and friends told me when they was in another country the people called them names like "nazy-girl" or "hitler" or something like that.
But that is the past an we´re against what Hitler did! Of course it was terrible and unhuman!
Why hates also so many people german and call us names based on the Nationalsocialism?
Because of this I don´t like my country and I´m ashamed.
Why are people doing that?
In their past they did terrible things too and we don´t call them names.

Please don't dislike and be ashamed of your country. It is a sad fact in this world that people hate/dislike other people based on past history, cultural differences, skin color (known as racism), etc. People forget that Germany isn't the only country that has had bad leadership in the past.
My mom's side of the family is German. Her grandmother (my great-grandmother) escaped from the Auschwitz camp during WWII. From what I understand she was part of the underground. Not much was ever spoken about her or her escape from the camp, not sure why though.
I was born and raised here in the USA. In grade school we had to write a short paper about our family history. For awhile I had other kids calling me a Nazi among other more colorful words which I won't use here. I understand how you feel. It's never fun getting picked on and having to feel ashamed of your family or where your from. I'm not sure how old you are, but as you and your friends grow up hopefully you won't have to hear very much or any name-calling.

To err is human, to forgive is Divine. The German people were not all Nazis. It is now 61 Years since the end of WWII Germany has been rebuilt with the help of the Marshal Plan. The German people had 61 years to learn from the mistakes that were made, and have shown progress and cooperation with the western world. We have seen what hate does, just recently in the Balkans, and why some still choose to hate and call insults, I do not understand. It is good that you do not retaliate, by returning the insults, and I wish you a very Happy Thankging Day. Pray for World Peace.

I like German people because I learn German and I already went many times to Germany. I think some people only see the nazi past of Germany because they don't know much about German culture. Any person who went to Germany or knows German people knows that the Germans made a huge education work to explain to the next generations how horrible Nationalsocialism was. Few nations did such a memory work.
I want to go one year in Germany next year.

Why the F%&&% are you ashamed of your country? Germans are unbelieviable as a people and as a country, and most haters hate them out of envy.
Others are just too stupid and think germany is still like the movies about WWII.
It's really ridiculous that people hold germans today acountable for what happened then. Every people in the world F%&//( up once in their history.
I'ts like hating spaniards for killing indians in Venezuela.
Don't waste your time on people who think like that.
You come to Venezuela, we love germans here

Many modern Germans are a living testament to a culture that has learned from its past and moved on.

We are currently in an era where the last of the collaborators are aging and dying -- and conversely, where a lot of the remaining first-hand victims are as well.

the attitudes you describe will continue to descend into the past for most of us. There will continue to be soem hard feelings until we as a species learn how not to hold each generation accountable for their ancestors.

only examine the antisemitc posts on Y/A. they say issues like Jews administration the media and the banks. that's the way it began in Germany. as quickly as people believed that and the banks have been failing he suggested that Jews have been stealing every person's funds and then confident people that Jews have been sub human. He created a fictional "ordinary enemy". every person is doing a similar ingredient in the present day and it needs to be stopped.

Your people either stood by our outright helped in the extermination of over 12 million people. How long are we allowed to be angry over that? At what point would you require us to just let that go? Germans who are STILL ALIVE participated in these horrible acts.
