If I'd known then what I know now....I'd still have MY piano. My Ex couldn't play if his life depended on it & I was too young & naive to understand that I had any rights to anything we'd acquired together let alone my personal property which he ended up keeping.
Oh..to go back & do that over again with the ammo I've got now. Ah well, live & learn.

I would say the car or if the computer was shared then that. The house and other things would remind me of the person too much. The car is just transportation.

Hey!! You said 1 material thing!! But since you answered yourself with more than one thing, I'm gonna do the same!! LOL.--I would demand to keep the photo albums, T.V., DVD's, DVD player of course, and all my clothes and whatever else I paid for. Screw all his stuff. I wouldn't want it.

9 acres of land, its half hers so I'm not sure I could.
Might have to buy her half, split it. Give her lifetime use, or sell it and split the cash.
My most valuable material thing is a mushroom book that my grandfather brought from Germany. I never met him, can't even read it, but its a link with him.

I would say all of the pictures (pictures of kids, pets, etc) b/c they help you keep memories and they are very special.

WELL BEINGS THAT I JUST WENT THROUGHT THIS I WOULD HAVE TO SAY ANY THING THAT PERTAINS TO THE CHILDREN(TOYS BEDS ECT.)
