a week or two - some home pregnancy tests can detect a pregnancy a few days before a missed period but most within a week after.

About 2 weeks. I am trying to get pregnant and I have a book telling me all about the body, in the book it says if you are in your fertitle time than if you have sex Monday you might not get pregnant until Friday. Because when your fertiltle your cervical fluid produce something I can't remember right now but it produces something that will keep the sperm alive, and if your not at your fertitle peek than the sperm can live for just a day if that because your cervical fluid is producing something like an acid killing the sperm so it can't live since there is no egg for it to implant into yet. I know to someone going through this it might seem like a long time but it takes about 2 weeks to find out. If you go to the doctors they have ways of telling you a few days earlier.

I'd say until you miss your period, or you wait 2 weeks to take a pregnancy test...
