I finished my first round of 50mg of clomid with no success. Now I am having a constant pain in my ovaries. has anyone ever experienced this? I know that clomid stimulates the ovaries to produce more eggs, but is it common to still have pain a month after the last dose of clomid?

I don't know, I just wanted to tell you about this book I just got it is called " Taking Charge of Your Fertility " by:Toni Weschler. It is written by an OBGYN with many years of experience. I have been researching fertility since I am trying to get pregnant and this book is highly recommended, I have not heard anything bad, it tells you all about your body and signs to look for when your body is trying to tell you it is time for you to get pregnant or if avoiding getting pregnant. It has talked about Clomid saying it is good but the bad part is that it dries up your cervical fluid that you need for the sperm to reach it's destination. The author has a web site I don't know it just type in the author or the title of the book and it should come up there are also reviews on amazon.com ~Good Luck~

You should have your OBGYN examine you or do an u/s to make sure your ovaries aren't hyperstimulated. I took Clomid for 8 months when ttc my daughter. I am in my 5th month ttc again on it. I do experience what feels like ovulation pains during my period when I don't conceive. I have never asked my OB about it because I have been getting month u/s and I don't have any problems with it. However, I believe it can cause cysts. Therefore, it's worth talking to your OB about it. I know this probably doesn't help much, but there are other meds that can help with ovulation, such as HCG injections. My OB has also just suggested switching from Clomid to Femara because I have been ovulating each month but haven't conceived. You might suggest switching meds. Good luck.

I also had cramps while on Clomid. My doctor explained that since I have enlarged follicles and they were pressing hard that's why I felt strong pain in my ovaries. I wouldn't worry about it, but just to make sure that this is not a cyst, you should check with your doctor to make sure. Therefore it might actually be that you are ovulating and producing eggs ;-)

I am just starting to take clomid, but my doctor told me to report ANY type of pain that I feel in my ovarys or lower abdomen. She said that the risk of having or getting(more) cysts on my ovarys was very high with clomid.
Please scheduale an appointment with you doctor just to make sure nothing is horribly wrong!!

Good Luck and God Bless

I think you should to the doctor for ultrasound to see how many eggs your ovaries are preparing to release. clomid does makes you ovulate and most of the time it makes both of your ovaries to ovulate, which results in multiples. This is normal but if it bothers you, you can always go to doctor.
