Well I wouldn't mind getting a couple of points here, if for no other reason than to point out to you that this is not a question even if you did put a question mark at the end of your statement.

x^2+2x-3 is a polynomial for which you can ask a lot of questions.

It's a second degree polynomial.
It's a trinomial.
It could be the equation of a parabola if you set it equal to something.
It's factorable. (which turns into (x - 1)(x + 3) in factored form)

But for those people who keep telling you that x = 1 and x = -3, they are sadly wrong. Unless of course the question that you did not ask was "What are the values of x that make this polynomial equal to zero?"

So now I have my two points, you have an idea that you should really ask questions and not make statements to which people are supposed to respond, and now I wish you a very good day. :)

x^2 + 2x - 3
(x - 1)(x + 3)

x = 1, -3

so far it looks like the factors are correct that others have given. it is (x+3)(x-1) which means that x= -3 and x= 1. You have to make sure you solve for x (set each part equal to zero: x+3=0)

You can't award just 3 points for best answer. Best answer gets 10 points. This has no answer anyway. It is not an equation. You must specify what you want. It appears to be a factoring problem or you have forgotten to add "=0" to the equation. Either way, you wasted 5 points for nothing.

x^2+2x-3
(x-1)(x+3)
x=1 and -3

x^2 + 2x - 3 = 0
(x + 3)(x - 1) = 0
x + 3 = 0 or x - 1 = 0
x = -3 or x = 1

x^2 + 2x - 3 = (x+3)(x-1)
If you wish to know yhe values of x that make the above expression = 0, then:
x+3=0
x=-3
X-1 =0
x=1
