We all know really what we need to do and verify it here but why do we still live as we were and don't follow through?

It helps to get others perspectives on the way you may be looking at something in your life. The problem we have on here is that we don't have much background info on each other, we are answering in the dark. But its still cheaper (and sometimes just as good) as paying a counselor $110-150 per hour, that's the going rate where I live. Not a psychiatrist, just a person trained in psychological counseling or related area.
* and professionals please don't take offense, I know you are specially trained, but I have run into some bad ones, not many but enough.

I believe your are correct. People ask and receive advice, yet they already have a notion of what they want to hear, so it's more for validation, rather than considering opinions. People are creatures of habit and unless there is a drastic need which forces change, most don't. It's the path of least resistance...don't rock the boat...sweep it under the rug...put it off until tomorrow...all of which takes us to where we were yesterday. I think if we live more for just today and tomorrow, and let the past go, we have a better chance at doing what needs done for a good future, while enjoying happiness along the way.

Usually ask for the hell of it, or to try and be funny, but I did get one really good answer to a question once. Well thought out, so I took it to heart. Also, it's fun to see what other folks are asking and answering.

Although some people do ask questions on YA soley in hopes of getting validation of what they already plan to do, I think there are plenty of people asking for advice on YA because they really don't know what direction they should take and want input.

Of course we also have the people who think it's fun to make up ridiculous scenarios and ask "what should I do", and those folks participation is solely for our entertainment and their own.

This is for entertainment purpose, but I have to believe that someone has gotten some good information. Sometimes people come up with some good answers, and maybe it's something that the person asking the question hadn't thought about.

I think that if you are asking questions here, that the "asker" really needs advice. So why not use the advice if it sounds good to you (the asker). I have asked a question on here and tried the advice that was given to me!

So far on the questions I submitted, I received only the answers that I expected to get (but disagreed with). There wasn't anything very original for me to use.

I don't think they use the advice but it helps them come up with their own thoughts, this place just gets their thoughts off the ground.

I think sometimes some of the people do take the advise, sometimes it's also for curiosity to see what other peoples opinions.
