My iPod Mini was doing the exact same thing. Then it suddenly stopped being able to scroll down the menus. I just decided to get a new iPod Nano instead of paying $100 to send it back to Apple.

thats what i hate about ipods, the batteries arent switchable, and could cost $100 to get a new one replaced, you could however buy a battery, not from apple, and replace it yourself, but that voids your ipod from free service. if its still kinda new, i think apple will replace it for free. i dont know what kind of battery is in the ipod, but if its a li-po battery, trying to kill it might be a bad idea, as draning it too low can damage the bettery and make it refuse a charge ever again, i dont think Li-ion batteries have this problem. either way, because apple likes its money, youre gonna have to send it in if you still want to keep the warranty, and i dont think its going to be cheep. i just wished that they used a removable battery, they could sell spares at walmart and make more money that way, its kinda wierd to see new versions come out with the same problem.

You may need a new battery but first try running the battery right down til it stops working then giving it an overnight charge. Sometimes helps

i'd take out the 50$ insurance policy on your iPod. after two weeks call in and report your battery and they'll give you a new one. It's 100$ retail, so you save 50 bucks and you're covered for any other problems that year.

If it is quite a new battery, contact apple. If it is old, they do get weaker, you can get replacement batterys but might me cheeper and easier to buy a new one. hope this helps

this will eventually happen to ipods... you can try to do the battery program http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/ or just replace the unit...

If the i-pod is too old then i would say it is time to buy a new one, or else get advise from the technical support from the relevant company's people.
