Irony is a metal that is gleaned from melting large amounts of irony ore. It is a malleable metal that was once good for making weapons and covering the outside of semi-submersibles like the Monitor and Merrimac. It has largely become obsolete with the invention of the plastic trash bag. You cannot eat it, unless you have carbide teeth.

No, you can't eat it. Irony is the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning. :-)
