Many people are interested in investing in Africa. The potential rewards are high, but it is also more risky than other areas of the world. Many of the countries have no respect for capital, there are very little security laws and what there is can be difficult to enforce through the courts. Investors are worried about corruption & the idea that if they do make a profit it will be confiscated.

The best way to invest on a small scale is through a mutual fund (OEIC). Also, many African companies now list stock in London or New York. Buying stock in those companies is less risky because they have to follow US or UK accounting laws.
