Relax!

They are just going to monitor it to make sure it moves up, which they usually do.

You can still have sex, you do not need bedrest.

If it isn't covering the cervix right now, it never will. If it were to be covering your cervix (at all) it would cause complications during childbirth BUT low-lying isn't previa.

So just take a deep breath. It will probably move and it isn't a big problem anyway, just variance of normal.

I was told the same thing. I believe it's called placenta previa and shouldn't be diagnosed until later in the pregnancy because the placenta could move. Mine did and I have no problems. I wouldn't worry so much. A lot of women are diagnosed the same thing, but the placenta moves. Sex can be harmful with it being so low. Do a little research on the placenta previa to give you a better idea of what you MIGHT be in store for.

Sometimes it corrects itself. Mine did. They should have you come back for a follow up ultrasound to check if it is improving in several weeks. I was told no intercourse, at least until it started to correct. If mine hadn't corrected, I was told that I might have to go on bedrest later in the pregnancy if there was any bleeding, as this is common in placenta previa and low lying placenta. They told me to keep my feet up as often as possible. Also, if it remains too low, a c-section is necessary because it is in the way of delivery and increases chances of the cord getting wrapped etc. By the time I had my little boy, I had 7 different ultrasounds, just to keep an eye on everything.

Placenta Previa. If it doesn't move out of the way of the birth canal before your due date, your doctor will schedule a c-section. Its normal, and a lot of placentas move on their own.
And just so you know, not to scare you, in some cases the placenta delivers before the baby causing fetal stress or hemorrhaging. That is why most doctors will want to perform a c-section instead of risking the health of the mother and child through a vaginal delivery. Most likely yours will move. Don't worry.

I had the same thing when I was pregnant. Don't worry, the placenta usually moves on its own. Your doc may give you a few extra ultrasounds to keep a close watch (which is cool, cuz you get to see your baby!)

Try not to panic, it is a common problem.
