Absolutely NO fluke.... This kick will soon die down a little bit. Had they been healthy all season last year, they would have pushed an upper playoff seed. Fisch is a big pick-up. D. Williams is arguably as good or better than Chris Paul, in my opinion. Possibly the best chemistry driven team in the NBA!

They've surprised me to this point, but I still don't consider them a contender in the west, and I don't expect them to stay on top any more than I expect the Suns to stay in last place.

When I look at the Jazz' roster, I don't see how that group could possibly carry this team through a whole season at a high level of play. I can see them making the playoffs as the winner of a very weak division, but I'd be shocked to see them advance beyond the second round.

It's a nice story so far, but I'm not expecting them to keep this up past Christmas. They might beat up a little on their division, but the Southwest and Pacific both have multiple teams that I'd take ahead of the Jazz.

It's no secret Jazz is now stronger than last year, with the addition of fisher and others and the coming back of Boozer they are contender but of the west but not the top spot.

Possibly contenders....it depends on several factors....the health of Carlos Boozer, Derek Fisher, Mehmet Okur these all have been known to have shaky seasons....Darren Williams is only a second year guard, not nearly enough experience even if they do make it to the playoffs.....plus there division does have two usual playoff contenders, the Timberwolves and Nuggets, although shaky seasons they can bounce back....but if Andrei Kirelenko picks up his play it could be really scary

it's too early in the year to consider the utah jazz a contender in the west but they are a talented team who could make the post season

Hmmm, if every person performs and no tanking happens, he he. Utah will proceed to be in the 4th spot. they're the divisional leaders and fortunate to be that top. i think of Utah will lose their next 3 video games. Sorry - i be attentive to you're a fan and albeit I have not got any issues of the Jazz yet watching different communities' and their skill, that's what I see desirable now. if your team keeps to be "Hungry" and that i'm incorrect (that's in all probability conceivable) they're nonetheless in the 4th spot.

If they could stay on the top at the season end, i would consider them as a contender, but not for now.
