Study of Nietzsche....he is anti-nihlism. Society gave me a load of trash to defragment in my head and it required some heavy iconoclasm and the rebuilding of myself in the image of a thesis of the apollonian....driving out the maenads like Lycurgus...I salute your question. We need more like this!

As that sort of thing is brought on by hormones, adjusting to being older and finding out who you are, once you move past puberty, you should be able to recover and get used to being happy to be who you are. If the problems are more deep-rooted, then see a councillor. Teenage angst does fade, I promise. It's horrible when you're going through it, and the fact that it's a phase, doesn't stop it from being hellishly depressing - it is real, but it really does go with age and time. Your body and mind need time to work through the huge adjustments of becoming an adult, but once that happens, the pain of your teenage years will fade, as you move into an optimistic, possibly invincible-feeling phase of your life. This is also a phase, and eventually life and experience will help you to find a more realistic happy medium.
Just hang in there!

I wouldn't call it nihilism in my case, more like self-absorption and a feeling of invincibility.
Having a son and losing loved ones woke me up to the realities of life.

When I sat down and really studied the Desiderata by Max Erhmann. I thought, "I can live with that". I have earnestly tried to ever since.

Teenage existentialism.
And then it took Platonism to get over that.

Well, one day sometime in my senior year of high school, I woke up and realized that my life didn't suck THAT badly, and I was actually pretty happy with how everything was going. It was as simple as that.
