In my honest opionion, alcohol. Alcohol has contributed to more deaths than marijuana. I find it to be a much more dangerous and addicting drug. I honestly think this country should legalize it and sell it just like alcohol (must be 21, no smoking & driving, etc) so it can be taxed. People make such a big deal about marijuana when really there's no harm as long as you're of legal age and not operating any heavy machinery. The dangerous factor comes in when you have as5hole drug dealers mixing it with other toxins and drugs.

Statistics I remember demonstrate that alcohol is responsible for FAR more illness, injury, lost time at work, property damage, and general misery than marijuana is.

BUT that's at least in part because alcohol is legal and marijuana is not. Prohibition had many downsides, but cases of alcoholism did drop measurably.

So it's comparing apples and oranges.

I like my beer. Pot is illegal, so I stay away. If it were legal, I might enjoy a toot now and then . . .

If you discount the theory that marijuana is an opening to other drugs, I think acohol clearly has worse effects on society.
Drink driving deaths and injuries, spousal and child abuse, liver damage, people generally hospitalised for excess alcohol consumption, and many more effects of alcohol consumption are prevelant in society every single day.

Its no longer, the government basically cant administration it like they are in a position to alcohol. while they are in a position to it is going to advance into criminal. eating kills hundreds daily. I examine one time that there at the instant are not any documented deaths from marijuana interior the final 5,000 years. Dont be attentive to if its actual.... Heck, i dont even smoke mary jane yet i think of its lots greater effective than booze in terms of each and every thing

Since the republican war on drugs eliminated marijuana in this country, it has virtually zero effect. Therefore, the detrimental effects of alcohol are worse.

Alcohol

An interesting aside about illegal *soft* drug related violence/crime/cost. Those are almost always a result of the pressures of operating on the black martket. Cost of product increases dramatically because of "risk" Having to move and distribute "under the radar" makes people as paranoid if not More than drugs do. I say this in regards to soft drugs only....a crackhead or junkie would be the same even if it were legal, IMO.

Alcohol...too many drunk driving deaths, alcohol poisoning, and domestic violence from alcohol. Marijuana never caused any of those things.

Alchohol, is by far the worse of the two. Pot is not known to cause violence (except some of the dealers), yet you hear everyday about domestic violence and other crimes committed while intoxicated on alchohol. It's a no brainer.
