To recover all types of deleted files you can download Wondershare Data Recovery -> http://bitly.com/1qaJOqX

Any time that a file is deleted on a hard drive, it is not erased. Instead, the information that points to the location of the file on the hard drive is erased. This pointer, along with other pointers for every folder and file on the hard drive, is saved in a section near the beginning of the hard drive and is used by the operating system to compile the directory tree structure. By erasing the pointer file, the actual file becomes invisible to the operating system. Eventually, the hard drive will write new data over the area where the old file is located. The data recovery utilities search for data on the hard drive that does not have corresponding pointer information and present you with a list of these files. Your chances of fully recovering a file diminish the longer you wait after you deleted the file since the probability that the file has been overwritten increases.

Yes. You will need to download and install a recovery program on another computer or hard drive. You can find several at download.com. Attached the formatted drive as a second hard drive in the cimputer. Run the recovery software and tell it to look at the deleted drive for files to recover. It may take a while, but you should be able to recover the files. They are not actually "gone", just the directories that point to them have been cleared. The recovery programs reads through the hard drive and recreates those directories.

I just went through this. There is a way to recover your data, but its extremely difficult to do. First you have to obtain a program that will allow you to recover your data from a format. These are hard to come by, but out there.

When you format your hard drive, your data never actually leaves your computer. The pointers that the OS uses to look at them are wiped out completely. So all you have to do is find the program that allows you to get these pointers back, and you're in business.

Yes but very difficult. It depends what you did after you formated the drive. If you wrote data on the drive afterwards I would call it a loss. However, if you left it alone right after the format then it is salvageable.
