I don't speak the language but I wonder if there are any jobs and american can do there while learning the language. I.e. making money and learning at the same time-not being a student.

France is very expensive now, just like New York..You should check with the US State Department to see if they have any jobs there, or maybe the French Embassy. Stick with the government jobs.

Of course, you're not going to be the only student, not speaking the language and working... Guess what, France IS MUCH MORE OF A FREE COUNTRY THAN THE US

Working in restaurants is a good option or cleaning, you need limited language skills to start and you will meet others and improve you French daily. Avoid other English speakers they only hold you back with learning the language.

maybe teaching english. There is a book you can probably find in the library about how to move to France, I don't remember its name. Bonne chance!
