Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

You should first let us know what browser you use
If it is Internet Explorer, and you add the google toolbar and or Yahoo toolbar - it will stop most but some pop up still occur: e.g amaena.com and winantipsy - these 2 refused to stop bothering you.
However by using Mozilla Firefox, no pop ups occur. MF have automatic popup blocker
If you are using Mozilla Firefox and still having popups, that means a spyware have been spying on you and try
1. Spybot: this is a freeware. It will kill many spyware but not all
after the cleanup - see if there is still pop-up
if yes,
2. Try Ad-aware - again it will many but not all
if you still have popups
3. Spysweeper - you have to pay for this - again it weill not eliminate 100%
What you

Download Avant Browser (here http://www.snapfiles.com/get/ieopera.html) and use its "disable popups" feature. I have been using it for years and have had no issues with pop-ups. Otherwise if you do not want to switch browsers then a program like Smart Popup Blocker available from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/smartpopupblocker.html
