I have 3 boys and they were all potty trained by 18 months old. The thing that I found that work the most was make a Potty Chart: Put his name on a piece of paper and hang it in the bathroom some were near the potty and every time he pee pees put a sticker next to his name and clap and praise him for doing it. It seems kind of stupid but been there done it 3 times and its worked for me. GOOD LUCK

You can start now! Place the potty in the tub and run some warm water. Place the child standing in front of the potty and splash some warm water on his privates. When he starts to go, yell "See! Pee pee in the potty! Yea!!!!!!" and get all excited.
Do this for a month, then place the potty in the living room or other place where he will easily see it. Help him by bringing him to the potty every two hours. Don't go out to the store or do unnecessary trips at this point. Get happy every time he goes in the potty. Be patient with mistakes so he doesn't get stubborn or scared. It takes about 3 to 4 months, but BE CONSISTENT or else you will get really frustrated and so will the child.
NO PULLUPS; those are EVIL. They prevent a child from learning to be dry at night. Good luck.

My son has gone in and out of the potty training stage and I have tried everything...aiming at cherrios, food coloring, candy, prizes, stickers, money...I even set his potty chair over with books to let him feel like a big boy. He is now 2 (3 in Jan) and I have resulted back to stickers. I laid low for a little bit to not push him to hard and he just got it! I put him in training pants for an entire weekend and he just got it.

well you could just start by taking him to the potty as soon as he wakes in the am and from naps and when you see that he is about to have a bowel movment you can take him and put him on the potty that will help him get in the habit of going potty it might take a while for him to get in routine and it will help him understand what a potty is for but once he does as soon as he wakes up he will run to the potty by his self and then the rest of the potty training will go alot easier i did that with my son and he picked up pretty quick but i waited till he was two but you could have your son started early just by introducing him to the potty in the am and when he wakes up cause thats when its easiest to know he has to go or will soon have to

Everybody is different. My son did it 2 and half. My daughter did it 18 months. Girl is easier. When you don't have changed the diaper/pull up often, e.g. 2-3 hours apart, it may be the time to start. . He also need the male model so let the father do his part.
