Unlikely. Seinfeld has made most of his money long ago and does not need to worry about royalties now. Yes, he could lose some, but the real damage is to Kramer. He needs work a lot more than Jerry ever will again and he is toast....

I don't think so. Jerry made a statement and I am not sure why, I guess he wanted to stick up for his freind, but what Kramer said was horrible. Those were ugly words and he didn't have to take it there. he could have made fun of the guy, said jokes about his clothes, hair, nose, whatever,,,but Kramer said ugly things and made refernces of slavery and hangings. That is just plain a s s wrong!!!
i will never support a another thing Kramer ever does.

Possibly but I think the show is such an icon of american pop culture that it is unlikely the show or Jerry will be affected by a backlash.
I think the reason he was so upset over what Richards said is that it was very inappropriate and uncalled for. Any professional stand-up deals with hecklers from time to time... that is part of the business. Richards let an ugly side of him loose and he will have to deal with the fall out. I can say that it shocks me that people still are so racist after so many years and to see what some of the people wrote here it is pretty clear that we, as a people, still have a lot of work to do.
Richards has a great deal of work to do to repair his reputation and career. Hopefully he will learn that people are people regardless of race, ethnicity, etc... and to hate people or insult people for their differences is unforgivable. Maybe he will change... who knows.

I think people can differentiate between what Michael Richards did and Jerry Seinfeld's show. I don't think the Seinfeld show will suffer too much, if at all, from this debacle.

I believe so because I am now completely turned off from ever watching an episode again. Thats why Jerry felt it was his duty to get his friend on national television to apologize. I used to love Kramer but I guess it goes to show that you never know whats really going on in someones head.

I don't think there will be any backlash against the show. It would be different if new episodes were still coming on, but its just repeats. Its still a great show and there were other funny characters on there besides Kramer.

I think Michael Richards is to blame for the outburst, and not "Kramer". Yes we all know he is most associated with that role and that show but he is also an individual....

It's possible. I hadn't thought about that. However my guess is the big money from syndication has already been made.
