Childrens picture book that i am desperate to find!! please Help!!

I was in primary school when I had a book that I loved, I am pretty sure that it had no words but it was beautifully illustated. The main character was a smart gentleman who wore a bowler hat, (not Mr Benn) and he went for a walk in the park, He walked past some railings and in the background there was alwasy something wrong, like an apple on the wall or a chimney on upside down and I think it finished off with him sat on a bench in the park. I really can't remember what it was called and please please help me as I want to buy it for my baby cousin. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like an Anthony Browne book. The character, if tiz the right one is a man/bear in a bowler hat, the pictures change in true Anthony Browne style.
It's probably called "A walk in the park"

try this link to look at some of his pics.

The only one I can think of is Caps For Sale. I remember the guy wore a bowler hat and he was trying to sell caps but monkeys kept stealing them. Probably not what you are looking for, but I thought I'd try to help.

Caps for Sale was my first guess also, but that can't be it..

I'm a Teacher, and I'll tell you that if you cant find that book youre looking for, your cousin will loooooove Caps for Sale. It's silly very simple book, and it has simple rhyming language. This Teacher read it in class last week to her 1st grade class, and the kids went crazy for it.
