It is common to faint during pregnancy. I fainted a few times during pregnancy. Your blood sugar could be low, you could get too hot, or you could get out of breath. Even though yu arent far along, it could be any of those things. Try to keep cold water or juice with you at all times. Try not to get over heated. I got really hot and thirty because I was shopping in a department store on the "after Thanksgiving Day sales", and I felt it coming. I hit the floor. When I awoke I was okay, but very shakin' up. From then on, I kept my distance from the heat and alot of crowded areas. At your next o.b. appointment, let your doctor know. You might want to get your bllod pressure checked, and have a glucose screening. Make sure you are getting plenty of healthy foods, and lots of water. Stand up slowly, because your uterus, and placenta, as well as the fetus are demanding alot of blood right now. The extra work that your heart is having to do, can be strenuous. If you do feel faint, get a drink, and lie down if possible. If you are out and about, slide down against a wall and place your head between your knees, and take slow deep breaths. Ofcourse, if you are driving, pull over and put your hazards on! Be careful. Although scary and embarassing, it is common during pregnancy.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
God Bless.

My dizziness has been bad throughout my pregnancy, but I have not fainted. It makes sense as to why they would put you on the iron tablets but why did you stop taking them? Personally, I would continue to take them. Also, watch your sugar intake, and caffeine intake. I am honestly shocked that your midwife did not want to analyze this further. My last doctor's appointment I had to bring home with me basically a "pan" that I would put underneath the toliet seat to collect my urine for 24 hours, and then I had to bring it back. I had to do this because I have been having really bad consistent headaches, and dizziness. My midwife told me what the condition is called that they wanted to test for but I can't remember it either. Basically though my blood pressure (there are two numbers when they take your blood pressure) and the second number is lower than what it should be, and I have some protein in my urine, but they feel that it's not enough for me... and that has basically been my experience. Maybe address any further concerns with your midwife if you feel the need to? I probably would.

Yes, very common. Happened to me too. That's how I found out I was pregnant. I know it is very scary!! I was in a store with my 11 year old daughter and fainted at the checkout. She was terrified and didn't leave my side for a long time afterward. And she still refuses to go back to that store! Just take it easy, get plenty of rest and drink lots of water.
Good luck and Congrats!

I fainted or nearly fainted several times during my three pregnancies. This was due to orthostatic hypotension. I always felt weak and out of breath after standing or walking for a while. I just had low blood pressure as the reason.

I fainted at 32 weeks and fell on my stomach. Horrifying because when I woke up, my first thought was about injuring the baby. My doctor said to be careful with sudden movements, because that could cause the fainting.

I fainted once, but I am sure it was because I needed to eat something. Really low blood sugar will do that to you. And it comes on FAST... Keep some candy or a little snack in your bag in case you need to eat something before you can get home for a meal/ snack.

strange things happen when you are pregnant, when you are pregnant you are more prone to fainting, be careful when you get up, this is when I have most of mine, when I get up too fast I can almost guarantee I will be clinging to a wall blacked out. Sometimes I can catch myself but there has been a few times I go to the ground.
Good Luck!

This is very common in pregnancy due to the body changing. The baby is pushing things all around in your body and the blood flow is different. Not only is it going thru you but the placenta as well. Take it slow when you get up, from laying down. I would mention this to your doctor.

You might need iron pills... I almost fainted several times... and found out my iron was low. Not sure if this is the case for you-but it really helped me. Your baby will take nutrients from you, and so that's why I needed extra iron, so there could be something you are deficient in... get it checked! You will be amazed how much of a difference it is!
