when they chit-chat with their fellow clerk and totally ignore you, esp when they dont greet you! jeez

Chit-chatting with their fellow clerk at the next register. I don't have a problem with them making small talk with me, few people nowadays are even nice enough to smile at someone if they're not friends.
When they just ring up the items while talking to the clerk at the next register it's really annoying. Really, how nice is it to turn around and have a conversation with the next person over and not even look at the things you're scanning? Even worse when they chat right over your head.
It really annoys me when they do that. That, and when they don't greet you or say anything whatsoever to you, or don't even look at you except to say how much you owe them at the end. Working in a store or some other place where you have to deal with people all day means you had to be nice to the customers or they won't come back. I'd stop going to some grocery stores if the cashier never looked at me... if it weren't for distance issues.

I hateit when they chit-chat with the other clerks. But what I hate the most is when there is a line at the customer service desk (where they do returns), and they have some sales clerks "on break" just standing around back there.

Chit chatting with a fellow clerk would just flat out piss me off. But what's more annoying is when they thumb thru the magazines you are buying and then want to discuss it with you. I swear, that happens to me all the time.

When they chit chat with the clerk at the next register without so much as making eye contact with me. I don't really mind them talking with their friends while i am there... but, at least acknowledge that i am standiing there as well.

I don't mind the chit-chat with the other clerks as long as they acknowledge me! Sometimes they won't even say hi or read the total, they just talk and expect me to read it and pay.

I hate it when they chit chat another clerk. I am spending my money pay attention to me but don't talk to me either. I'm there to get my stuff and leave. I just want to scream "You are here to do your job not talk, now ring me up and lets get this over with!"

Chit-chat with the fellow clerk. That's just rude. If they can't keep their traps shut, they should at least try to humor me (the customer) with some mindless banter.
