The fact is that after years of learning, someone along the line decided to take the fun out of it and give you book work, busy work, and other things. A lot of teachers are burned out with teaching kids who are burned out and don't want to learn anymore and it just becomes a vicious cycle.

Stick in there. This is your life. You are going to make it whatever you want it to be. Your teachers are not going to dictate your life forever. Whatever you choose to learn will either help or hinder you, so make what you have left of school count. Make school about you, because your grades, your test scores, your choices will only affect you. You can make your life better after you get done with this drudgery called school if you take it seriously now.

Just do it for you and nobody else.

The short, not-so-sweet answer is that you "put on your big girl panties and deal with it." But that's no help, is it? Are you hating high school or college? College isn't for everyone, but you do have to give it time, or you may have to switch schools to find a better match for your personality. High school, sorry to say, is a must for everyone. You just can't have a life without it. You need to do everything possible to find things to like about it, whether it's a variety of extra-curricular activities or changing your group of friends or whatever. Guidance counselors usually aren't much help, but there's always at least one affectionate, understanding teacher at every school who really "gets it" and remembers what it was like. Seek out that person, confide in them, and work hard at finding things to like until you graduate. It's the only way to be sure you have a chance at a future. Good luck.

School has been around for a long time. Thousands of years, and it is not going away. Actually, school is easier now than it ever has been in human history due to the use of technology and the understanding of varied types of human intelligences, etc. that I won't go into.

Now listen: Not everyone who has "made it" in life has gone to school and enjoyed it or even lasted in school. If you bail out on school you are not an automatic failure and if you stay in school you definitely are not an automatic success either. But the odds are in your favor if you wtiock with school.....My advice to you is also to recognize that school is device for sorting us into ability groups (lawyer or dishwasher?) and a test of human self-direction, persistence, and growth. If you can stick with school you have shown the power to stick with other challenges in life. That may be the simple reason for "school."

School won't last forever. Suffer it out, do your best, and it may most likely lead to greater and more interesting things when you are an adult. Certainly more open doors and more opportunities in life as an adult. Good luck.

You need to stop hating. It's like hating your boss ... if you don't change you won't get ahead. Try to find things that you do like about school ... just like you can find things that you like about a person. Concentrate on those things. Hating is harmful.
